"After a lot of search on the internet for a clean, affordable, serene, safe place to live in Jakarta found Maritim Guest House (MGH) and what a find it was. A place which originally was planned to be a stay for 10 nights turned out to be my home away from home in Jakarta for 7 months. My room had everything that I could expect as a working professional to have a place to stay - blazing fast wireless internet connection, big king size bed, study table, TV with many international channels and also the HBO channels for the latest movies, small refrigerator, clean big bathroom/toilet with hot water all the time, excellent laundry service. Outside the room the security was amazing with rule of friends not allowed on the property working well to maintain good security. Breakfast menu - scrambled eggs, breads baked inhouse, muffins, cookies baked in house, fresh fruits from garden on the property. Lunch/dinner - organic red/brown rice, vegetables, fresh meats from the best suppliers and off course free flow of tea, coffee from countries like Malaysia, China, India and off course the local Javanese. Staff - local and trained by very experienced hotelier from USA blending east-west service style and giving a proffessional service along with the uniqueness of Indonesian culture and mannerism, very friendly, many could speak in very good English and very proactive/preemptive actions to make you comfortable." K. Patel from Pune, India

"I found MGH quite by accident when I was looking for a decent place to stay while on business in the Jakarta Selatan district. The experience exceeded my expectations - the privacy, clean bedrooms and bathrooms, homely environment, good service and hospitality of the owners and staff. I was most surprised by the hearty breakfasts, and unlike many other places, I got to choose another main meal as part of the package - what a great deal! Not just any meal, but tasty, nutritiously prepared food. After long days out in the city battling traffic, it's good to get home to MGH. Now, even as I am needed in other parts of Jakarta, I keep going back to stay at MGH, Jakarta's best kept secret."   A recent review for us at TripAdvisor

"I would wholeheartedly recommend the Maritim Guest House to anyone wishing to visit Cilandak. The accommodation was spot on and the staff consistently went out of their way to make me feel at home. Not being familiar with the area, they were most helpful in providing directions and anticipating my needs. The highlight for me was the wonderful meals - felt like I was having a home cooked dinner every night! Keep the good work up. Look forward to staying with you again."  Ken - Melbourne, Australia

"I stayed at Maritim Guest House in the middle of 2011. I found the staff very welcoming and helpful. My room was spotless, the wifi is great and the food is delicious and made with love. It was hard to believe I was staying so close to a very busy area, felt very relaxed, I hope to stay again in the future".

It was a very enjoyable stay in the Maritim. I can recommend this guesthouse, very clean, comfortable and modern, and the food really special. Best home-baked muffins and bagels I've ever had in a hotel or guesthouse, and choice of American or Indonesian home cooking. We had breakfast and lunch or dinner and the meals were beautifully presented, everything fresh and home-made. This friendly guesthouse was quite a find in crowded Jakarta, and we were really well looked after, thanks Don and Ita

Ms. Rachel from The Netherlands:
The MARITIM Guesthouse is a beautiful, safe & quiet oasis in pretty much downtown hectic, polluted Jakarta.

Feeling honored to be the first official guest; I got a nice & comfortable room with all facilities with a hygienic clean, well designed bathroom and felt instantly at home. The gentle staff surrounded me with pleasant attention, and the cook produced every day delicious food using ingredients from the organic garden of the territory. She made very exclusive jams, muffins, fresh fruits for breakfast and always asked me what I wished for dinner, I most appreciated her flavoring Indonesian dishes. The food was really good, excellent tea, good coffee, organic ice-cream and cookies! Fantastic.

When I returned tired after a trip, the guards always recognized me and immediately the gate was opened, I felt protected.

I enjoyed to have conversations with Don, the thoughtful owner, and his wife and thus got useful tips about the must-sees and inside-outs of the metropolis. I felt terribly spoilt with care.

I thank both for their tremendous efforts to grant me a pleasant stay. I will come back and then want to relax on the new terrace viewing the garden.

Hartelijk dank voor alles, Rachel
